The Main Bridge is the nerve center of the ship. From here, officers
on watch make all tactical and strategic decisions. As is customary in
Starfleet ships, the Bridge is a replaceable module.
The current configuration, the STD-MOD, was designed to integrate the
latest innovation in starship command and control. In addition to
standard station consoles (Commanding Officer, Navigation,
Communications. Helm, Engineering and Environmental Controls, and
Weapons), one science station and one operations station are located on
each side of the Command Console; receive direct input from the sensor
package. These two stations act as the control center for the Science
Department and Operations Department during intensive research or
exploratory operations.
