Physical Appearance: Slender and small in stature it would be easy to overlook Sidney in a crowded room, but her wide, intelligent eyes and quick smile often draw notice despite her size. When not pulled back her reddish brown hair falls in soft waves around her face and just past her shoulders. She can often be seen lifting one eyebrow and smiling wryly at a comment made by a friend or coworker, usually with a twinkle in her eye. Though considered pretty, she is generally unaware of her own attractiveness.

Personality: Despite being labeled "The Ice Princess" by classmates at the academy, Sidney is friendly and easy to work with, if just a bit reluctant about letting anyone too close. She is very focused with a tendency toward being a workaholic when she sets her mind to a project. Though never one to be the life of a party she has a quick wit and a good sense of humor that draw people to her.

Other Pertinent Data: Sidney never drinks alcohol but can frequently be seen nursing a cup of lukewarm, weak tea.

History: Sidney’s mother, Eleyna, was the daughter of a rich Earth family who did not approve of her marriage to a "mere" Starfleet cadet. She left her family and moved to San Francisco to be closer to the Academy while he was studying, then stayed there as he began his tour of duty as a communications officer. Both were excited when she discovered she was pregnant and Marken accepted extended leave to be present for the birth of his daughter. A few short weeks after her birth he returned to duty.

For years the two maintained the long distant relationship, but when Sidney was five years old her father was injured in the line of duty. As a result, LT Walker resigned his position in active duty and returned to the Academy where he took a position as an assistant instructor. The family maintained a residence off campus.

Sidney’s parents were killed in a fire when she was 10 years old and she was sent to live with her only living relatives – her maternal grandparents. The relationship was always a strained one.

Upon graduating from high school Sidney applied for the Academy, behind her grandparents’ backs. An old friend of her father’s agreed to sponsor her and a short time later she took the exams and was accepted. Her decision meant that she was turning her back on her grandparents forever.

Feeling overwhelmed and alone at the Academy, she isolated herself from other students and focused all of her energies on her studies. She managed to earn a position in the top 5% of her class though her constant studying kept her from building friendships. Through the persistence of a few fellow cadets Sidney was drawn out of her shell and soon excelled socially as well as academically.

Sidney accepted several positions on ships until 2320 when she took a position on the Phoenix as Senior Communications Officer. She is determined to put the past behind her and become the kind of officer her father would be proud of.
