Physical Appearance: Ensign Lanakai is petite, yet well proportioned for someone of her height. While on duty, her long dark hair is worn in a bun on the back of her head. Lanakai displays all of the characteristics of her oriental ancestry and is considered to be attractive.
Personality: Ensign Lanakai is friendly and outgoing and is always willing to aid a fellow officer or crewmember. Lanakai is dedicated to her duty in Starfleet. When off duty, Lanakai prefers to spend her free time in the ships lounge, where she relaxes with other members of the crew.
History: Ensign Lanakai was born on the island of Maui in the Hawaiian island chain. Her father, Tai Lanakai, was named to a UFP ambassadorship and spent his career traveling around the quadrant, taking his family along whenever possible.
Miko Lanakai was an excellent candidate for Starfleet Academy and her father sponsored her admission. Lanakai specialized in engineering, excelling in the field of microelectronics.
Upon graduation in 2314, Lanakai was posted to Starbase Flying Cloud as part of the engineering "cathedral" unit. After the attack on the Starbase, Lanakai requested and was granted an engineering post on the PHOENIX.
