career officers in the service of the Federation. He lived with a family member

various starbases, depending upon where COL Wong Li was stationed.
Lance Corporal Li began training in the martial arts at five years old and by the time
he was in his early teens he became a black belt.
Li opted to follow in his father’s footsteps and enlisted in the Marine
Corps. Lance Corporal Li excelled as a marine and was capable of besting his instructors in
hand-to-hand combat. He also became a top fighter pilot.
Upon graduating from the Starfleet Marine Academy, Li was requested to stay
at the academy in the capacity of an instructor. After five years Lance Corporal Li
requested a transfer and was billeted to Starbase 27 near the Romulan Neutral
Zone.
A few years later Lance Corporal Li heard of the new 3rd Special Operations
Group, which was being assembled under the command of Colonel Lewis Horn. He
applied his request for a new assignment directly to COL Horn. The Colonel
quickly recognized that Li would be a welcome addition to his unit. A few short
weeks later Lance Corporal Li received his new billet aboard the USS PHOENIX.
