British
author David Darling has a PhD in astronomy from the University
of Manchester and has been a freelance science writer for more
than 30 years. He is the author of dozens of books, including
The Rocket Man, Megacatastrope! None Strange Ways the
World Could End, We Are Not Alone: Why We Have Already
Found Extraterrestrial Life, Gravity’s Arc, and
Teleportation: The Impossible Leap. His articles have
appeared in The New York Times, Omni, New Scientist,
Astronomy, and many other magazines and newspapers. He has
appeared many times on US and UK national radio stations, has
lectured around the world, including at the Royal Institution in
London, and runs a major science information website. He is also
a singer/songwriter whose first album, Songs of the Cosmos, was
recently released. He currently lives in Dundee, Scotland, with
his American wife. He has two children and three grandchildren,
who are his main hobbies.
